UFC 285: JONES VS GANE RESULTS

The highly anticipated UFC 285: Jones vs. Gane finally took place last night (Sat., Aug. 8, 2020) from inside the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the main headliner, Jon Jones made his return to the Light Heavyweight division to take on undefeated rising star, Dominick Reyes.

Jones was originally scheduled to face off against title challenger, Francis Ngannou, but the bout was scrapped after “Bones” pulled out due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

Reyes stepped in on just six-days’ notice to battle Jones in what turned out to be one of the most competitive fights of the former champion’s career.

The opening round was very close.

Jones utilized his reach advantage early and often, but Reyes was able to get inside and land some big shots of his own.

Reyes also had a big takedown in the round, but Jones was able to get back to his feet and clinch up against the cage.

However, Jones was able to take Reyes down in the round and control him on the ground.

In the third round, Reyes once again had Jones against the cage, but Jones was able to take him down.

Reyes got back to his feet, but Jones took him down again.
